Kenya Ichamara Peaberry

A classic, intense Kenya that is full of flavors.  Fruited and very floral, this Peaberry is just bursting with all sorts of flavors. We roast this to just a medium roast to keep all of those intense flavors. Any darker and they start to become more muted.

This lot from Ichamara is made up of 100% peaberries. The peaberry is a relatively rare (around 5% of total harvest) type of 'pea-shaped' coffee bean: usually a coffee cherry develops with two flat-sided seeds inside (giving us normal 'flat-beans'), but occasionally the cherry instead produces only a single, rounded seed, known as a peaberry. Because a peaberry coffee forms only one bean instead of two they are said to be more robust than coffees that form two beans.

PLEASE NOTE: This coffee comes in 12 oz bags as opposed to our normal 1 lb bags. In addition, because of the rarity of the peaberry we need to put a limit of 3 bags per order.
